Basics

Combat in Allods Online can take place on the ground or in the Astral while on board ships.  Ground based combat is the most commonly known style among MMO players and is the sole form of combat while levelling a character.

Astral combat requires a well organised team of players who can manage the specialised ship options while working together in an unpredictable environment.

In addition to these main types of combat, you will find groups of players and even full Raid parties engaging in PvP.  Raiding the opposing faction or Astral Raiding can be exciting and earn you much Combat Glory.

Combat Glory

By participating in PvP (Player vs. Player combat), players can earn Combat Glory points for killing the opposite faction. Based on performance, players will be ranked in different tiers on a weekly basis.

Better performances mean higher tiers which lead to better status among your faction. The higher the level of an opponent, the more glory points will be gained from a kill. If a player is 5 or more levels lower, no glory can be gained from killing them.  Please remember that Combat Glory points will be reset each week.

Capital Arenas

The capitals of the two factions, Empire- Nezebgrad and the League- Novograd, call these places; Arenas. You can easily find them on the map, they are marked with an "A " for Arena.

In the Arena, players can arrange duels and combat groups with players of the same faction. Once inside the arena, players are labelled as enemies and can be attacked.

There is no minimum level for these arenas, so all players can participate. It is also a very convenient location for players wishing to train with their spells and abilities acquired during their adventures in Sarnaut.

Flag of War

The Flag of War feature allows a player the opportunity to PvE (Player VS. Environment: To explore and quest without attack from other players).  If the flag is on, increased EXP may be gained, however this leaves the character open to possible attack from other players at any moment.

An icon controls a character’s Flag of War, located in the top right-hand side of the character portrait.  Clicking on this icon will change your status On/Off.

PvP Areas

Contested Zones

At the early stages of your character’s development you will be questing in zones that are exclusive for your faction. It doesn’t mean you won’t run in to a member of the enemy faction that has got lost, but the chances are you will be able to quest in peace.

All this changes as soon as you reach the contested zones, beginning in Asee Teph. These are important areas that both the League and the Empire wish to control, so you will have to be on-guard and keep your wits about you to survive! Use your Flag of War wisely to avoid PvP if you wish, but beware the banners of the League and the Empire, for once they are raised the only way to take them down is to physically remove them from your opponents dead hand!

June Catacombs

Deep within Gipat there is a complex maze that shape shifts on a regular basis. This maze is host to a cruel game for those seeking the mysteries that wait inside of the maze. Welcome to the June Catacombs. Who will make it through the labyrinth, and take on the Giant Golem, who sits and waits, defending illustrious treasures that reside in the centre of the June Catacombs. It won't be easy, there are other explorers in there too, and they are not friendly!

Use your Combat button (ctrl+m) to join the June Catacombs and find out what lies in the shadows…

Witch’s Hollow

The Witch’s Hollow is a 12-a-side PvP battleground system that is available from Level 23. It can be faction vs faction, but can also be inter-faction! The instance is staged to set up PvP battles between close levelled characters, so there is no chance of an unlucky Level 25 running into a group of Level 51s!

The goal is for your team of 12 to capture various points on the map. Each point captured allows teams to gain more resources, once a certain level of resource is reached that team will be declared the winners and awarded Marks of Confrontation. These marks can be turned in to vendors for such things as gold, experience, rare & legendary equipment and many other special items!

Arena of Death

Deep in Yaves Shard there is an arena where only the true heroes of the Empire and League can venture. They go there in search of treasure and glory, but often just leave with scars and tears.

The Arena of Death is situated between both factions’ camps on the ever unstable Yaves Shard. When you are the required level it can be accessed any time during the day by clicking on your Combat button (ctrl+m) and asking to join. Once there is the required amount of players ready to enter the Arena it will open and the fight will begin!

Melting Isle

This frozen wasteland has been uninhabitable for thousands of years. Rumours say that riches and treasure of the ancient Junes are littered within the land. Thankfully Global Warming has finally taken full effect on this allod, and now players who reach the required level can take on the opposite faction (and each other), in a battle for these hidden riches...Of course in order to get to the Melting Isle, you will have to first find how to get there.

To go to Melting Isle players must first travel to Gipat to speak to Spirit of Peace. Follow it’s instructions to be granted access, but be warned that friends can turns on friends just as quickly as they turn on enemies once that treasure appears!

Deserted Farm

The fighters of the League and the Empire have both been looking for a fresh spot in which to test themselves, and their enemy, lately. Knowing this, the Historians, being the most knowledgeable of all beings on Sarnaut, put forward a proposal to both Yasker and Aidenus, leaders of both factions.

They offered up a secluded spot, a farmyard, with a solitaty center point as the place where warriors could test themselves against men and cannons! The idea is to hold the center ground the longest and be declared victor!

Astral PvP

Astral PvP is unique to Allods Online, and is one of the greatest challenges awaiting all players who opt to create their own ship and venture into the unknown! The Astral is a great and dangerous experience, for you not only encounter the feared astral demons but also enemies’ ships!

Captains of every ship from both factions know how imperative it is to have an able crew with you at times like this, a good helmsman could be the difference between your ship being destroyed and you sailing off into the deep astral victorious! Not only that but the astral can get quite lawless, there have been numerous sightings of pirates in the darkness…
