A Closer Look at... Dominion!
"We fought until the last, and for what? We lost everything, they attacked us from everywhere, we were strong but one army alone cannot defeat so many. But next time will be different. Next time, we will not allow that to happen. Next time, they will have to face us with their own power, no tricks, no hitting from the back or avoiding battle. Next time…only the brave will survive!"
Those were the last words heard from Rowdy Brow before he disappeared after losing is last sector in Dominion… some said the shame of that defeat was keeping him away from the people of Sarnaut. But that was not it. For months, all he could think about was his return. But he needed to learn from his mistakes, and be sure that this will not happen again. One day, when he had slipped from the memories of all, he made an appearance. He was ready to fight again, but this time, the rules would be different…
A lot of new content is coming with the next update, Wind of Changes, some major game features will be rethought, and one of the most important changes being made is in the new Dominion!
With Wind of Changes, the Dominion is significantly altered. You can say goodbye to all the Allods and sectors, seeing the larger guilds taking all the big slices of the cake and having to face a guild that is not of the same level. This is no fun and we decided to implement a fairer system that will allow everybody to participate and to compete against enemies on the same level. No more randomness, no more strategies to avoid fighting, or benefiting by simply being at the right place at the right moment. The New Dominion will be more fairly balanced and you will have to earn your place at the top.
Now Dominion will have two stages:
1. All against All battle
Every Sunday, the group stage battles will start. Champion groups of any guild can enter the queue and meet with equally strong opponents, determined by guild rank. Which means that you will fight against guilds that are close to you in the table. To be a champion’s group, the only requirement is that the leader of the group wears a champion’s tabard.
The battle is divided into 4 rounds. A loss doesn’t disqualify you from the group, which means that each group will be able to participate in all 4 rounds. According to your results in those fights, the rating of your guild will be recalculated. Winning more fights will give you a better score and will influence your position on the list. The higher you get on this list, the better the potential reward is.
In addition to the maps that you already know, we are please to introduce 2 news allods that will take place as new battleground for the group vs group fight in Dominion:
2. Koch Itzmahl:
As well as the original rewards, such as Amalgam and Signs of Victory, participants will earn Fame for their guilds. Fame will come in handy for the next stage of Dominion activity. Only champion battles earn you increased Fame.
2. Raid Dominion
At the end of this first stage, the guild leader and officers of each guild will be able to bet at an “Auction” to win the right to fight against certain enemies. To do that you will need the Fame that you have won during the first stage. You can’t bid on a guild that is on over than 5 positions higher in the rating table.
Placed your bids? OK, so what's next then? You will meet on Tuesday for battle on the well-known Dominion map, the Misty Glade.
You might already know the place, but some changes have occurred and make the Raid Dominion very different from the current version.
The second stage of Dominion now only takes place as a Raid vs Raid fight, it is no longer possible to avoid it by sending only 1 or 2 groups in the queue. If you have more than one bid placed then you will fight against 2 different opponents. The guild will have to send different groups to both fields of battle. If a guild does not send any troops into combat it will count as a technical defeat.
In order to prevent younger guilds being outnumbered the raid is now 18 vs 18 instead of 24 vs 24.
You will know fight in 2 rounds instead of one. One as a defender and one as an attacker. At the end of the fight, the victorious guild will take a portion of the defeated guild's reward.
The rewards from Dominion will also change. You will now receive Realgar instead of Glyphs. The amount of Realgar will depend on your position on the table.
To give a better chance to every guild of finding a reasonable opponent, the tabard system has been changed.
-The number of Champion tabards will be significantly increased.
- At level 25, each guild will already have the maximum amount of Champion’s Tabards.
- The players wearing a Champion’s Tabard will be rewarded with 250% of the Realgar earned by their guild.
These changes will allow every guild to fight an equal foe according to their power and have more fun, but will also prevent guilds winning through sheer force of numbers. Everybody will have a chance to be a hero on the battlefield!
